Why did Cybersecify back BSides Bangalore?

BSides Bangalore is the kind of community-driven event the Indian cybersecurity ecosystem needs. Founder-led, practitioner-focused, and built around real research rather than vendor pitches. The 1200 plus attendees who showed up came for original work, hands-on training, and unfiltered conversations between researchers, founders, and CXOs. That mix is rare.

The W3-CS partnership matters too. Most cybersecurity conferences in India are vendor-heavy and skew male. BSides Bangalore makes deliberate space for original research and women-led tracks. That changes who shows up and what gets discussed. Less pitching, more practice.

Cybersecify is a Bengaluru-based founder-led penetration testing firm. Both co-founders are practitioners. Rathnakara leads penetration testing (OSCP). Ashok leads compliance and client delivery. Ashok and Cybersecify's Sai Samarth J also volunteered on the ground at the 2026 edition. Backing the local community that produces the next generation of practitioners is part of how we want to grow this market the right way. Trust over authority. Long-term over short-term. Community over corporate.
