Reporting cyber crime in India
If money has just left your account, or you are being threatened online, act on these two channels first. The first hour matters most.
Call first
1930
The national cyber crime helpline. Free, and staffed in multiple languages. Calling early gives banks the best chance of freezing a fraudulent transfer before the money moves on.
Then file a report
The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, run by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Financial fraud, online harassment, and sextortion can all be reported here, including anonymously.
Cybersecify is a penetration testing firm serving companies. We no longer publish guidance for individuals, and we are not able to help with a personal case. The two channels above are the official ones, and they are free.
